Feel It

This isn’t just good advice, it’s from God. Just like “love one another” and forgive one another” teach us how we are to treat each other, so does this. It’s not optional for the believer. Jesus got angry, but He didn’t sin. Some use His example of turning over tables and driving the money changers out of the temple as an excuse for violence. But those people were stealing from people in God’s house - and Jesus didn’t hurt anyone - He just kicked them out because the temple guards were too corrupt to do it.

We don’t have an excuse for hurting people just because we’re angry. We absolutely should let ourselves feel the anger, though. It’s happening for a reason and we need to understand why we feel that way. “Stuffing” it leads to resentment and bitterness. Allow yourself to feel all the feelings without trying to punish someone else - even if they’ve sinned against you - this is where your faith needs to be stronger than your anger so you don’t give the devil control over your actions. And, pray more! #beangrybutdontsin #fightoffaith #christianliving #discipleship #shalom #yourjourneytobeingwhole #dailydevotional
