You can read God’s word and even memorize it without letting it into your heart. It’s not a magic spell or incantation- God’s word is alive and it is challenging. But you have free will to let it transform you… or not. Just obeying the word or the law doesn’t change you - and it’s hard.
You must surrender to God to be transformed. Then, Holy Spirit helps you understand the Scriptures and hear God’s voice to guide you through life. There are hills and valleys, places of light and of darkness, but the Lord is with you through it all if you just believe.
