Have you ever felt like you had to perform or earn someone’s love or acceptance? I have, but I learned that it was a trap. We do need to earn respect and trust, especially in our work - but these are not the same as love and acceptance.
God loved you when He created you, uniquely and purposefully for His Glory. You don’t have to earn it by following a bunch of rules, just learn to love Him back and follow Him like a Father. He loves you more than you’re capable of comprehending, and He has set you free from the bondage of living up to the expectations of the world and from the sins that you will inevitably get entangled in. He will walk with you through everything because you are His beloved child.
