Following Christ requires focus, the gate that leads to eternal life is small and the road is narrow. We make choices and decisions everyday about this - and the little compromises to cultural pressure really matter. We are to respond in love but remain holy - set apart, different from the world. We’re not supposed to blend in, rather we should stand out like a bright light in a dark place.
Children think that disobeying is exercising freedom. How many adults still feel that way, though. It’s a lie! Obedience to God leads to freedom from this world, culture and the devil.
