Our Christian walk isn’t a straight line from here to heaven. God leads us through life’s seasons with many many opportunities to get closer to Him. His priority with us is our relationship with Him - NOT what we do in His name. Not our gifting nor our calling - being a child of God, holding His hand and chatting about everything and anything - that’s most important to Him. The more we do this, the more in tune we are with His Spirit within us - the easier it is for us to hear Him.
It’s so very easy to get busy doing the things you need to do and doing the work God has given you, that we don’t leave room for His divine interruptions. We know this is normal, because it happened to Jesus and the apostles all the time and they stopped what they were doing. They listened and responded with the Holy Spirit.
