What race has been set before you?
God has called you, chosen you, created you for a reason. Each of us has a purpose to fulfill, often many purposes to fulfill as we run this race. It’s a marathon, not a sprint. We can’t get it over with and go sit in the couch for the rest of our lives. The people who are touched by us matter. The work God called us to, matters. Whether you keep enduring and persevering, matters.
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,”
Hebrews 12:1 ESV
There is a great cloud of witnesses who are cheering us on. They have gone before us and they know that it’s worth it. Each of our races is on a different path with different obstacles.
