This is not what our culture promotes these days. Our culture would have us believe that what is “right in our own sight” is “our truth” and should not only be honored and respected by everyone, it should be protected by laws.
The Bible teaches something completely different: there is only one truth, and it is God’s. The truth is embodied in Jesus Christ, the way the truth and the life. There is right and there is wrong. Now, the way we are to deal with the worldly people is with grace, compassion and mercy - like Jesus did. Not to judge them, ostracize them, condemns them or call them names. We are also taught to serve one another as Christ did.
Are we supposed to friends with sinners? This is where it gets complicated and dangerous - be kind, be friendly, serve and love - but don’t become too close. There are several warnings in scripture about this. “Don’t team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness?”
2 Corinthians 6:14 NLT
