I know people who are frequently sorry and feel convicted of their sin - but they don’t turn away from it. They don’t repent, they just rinse and repeat. This is most serious when addiction is part of the problem and it’s a really hard thing to overcome. But, all things are possible with God!
I’ve been fooled by someone who was often sorry for their terrible behavior and words, and expected forgiveness- which I gave - but they never stopped doing what they said they were sorry for. There was No repentance. It was as if they were faking being saved.
