This made me think - To take time to consider who I listen to. I challenge you to do so too. Is it only the loudest voices, the ones shouting or crying for attention from the other room or from the TV or radio? Do these voices lift up your head or do they inflame your emotions? Do they bring you joy?
Whatever you hear regularly will shape your thoughts and affect your attitudes. You must control what you think about - “Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” Philippians 4:8
So I exhort you to turn off the News and turn on some worship music. When you catch yourself thinking in negative ways, deliberately change your focus. You can do this with music or with a Bible verse or a short prayer. On the bad days you may have to do this over and over again, but do it. Don’t let the devil win the battle for your thoughts - because he is fighting for it even if you’re not fighting back. #battlefieldofthemind #thinkonthesethings #listentogod @stevenfurtick #discipleship #yourjourneytobeingwhole #shalom #dailydevotional
