Love Isn’t Optional

Love. The Bible says a lot about love and yet, we often still think of it as more an emotion or feeling instead of an action and attitude.

Yes, we have feelings of love. But this is shallow and unstable - and it is not what Jesus did or asked (actually commanded) us to do.

“So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other.” John‬ ‭13:34‬ ‭

Jesus loved the “unloveable,” those who were sick, lost, demon-possessed, thieves, and even tax collectors. Do you show love and compassion for folks like these. What about friends and family? Do they know you love them because of your actions and attitudes towards them? Can they tell that they are important to you? I know that I definitely need to do better. Because it’s important to my Lord, it must be important to me.
