Make Gratitude Your Focus

Being grateful isn’t just a feeling or emotion we experience when we get what we want. You’ve probably heard the saying “Have an attitude of gratitude” before, and some of us scoff and others try it for a while - but don’t “get it.”

The thing is, when you live in a state of gratitude, you’re much happier and more fulfilled. I think its because of a few things…

First, you stop being as selfish. Selfishness is the opposite of gratitude and it leads to sadness and dissatisfaction.

Second, you focus more on “whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise...” (Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭8‬ ) When you do this, “the God of peace and all well-being will be with you.” THAT is Shalom! You’ll actually be walking in God’s wholeness if you choose to be grateful.

It’s many small choices throughout the day. Begin to thank God for them and change your focus and your attitude. The joy of the Lord is yours when you do! #attitudeofgratitude #nancyleighdemossquote #christianliving #grateful #shalom #choosejoy #yourjourneytobeingwhole #dailydevotional
