When things are going well, or we are caught up with our work and responsibilities, it is VERY easy to let our thoughts and awareness of God and His directions drift out of our minds. We do t have to put any effort into this, it just happens.
On the other hand, to remember Him and His word throughout our days does require some effort. It’s our daily walk with the Lord that keeps us in the shadow of His wing, that keeps us ready for the inevitable hardships and attacks we will encounter. This isn’t a new problem but we have the Holy Spirit to help us!
“Be careful that you do not forget the Lord your God, failing to observe his commands, his laws and his decrees that I am giving you this day. Otherwise, when you eat and are satisfied, when you build fine houses and settle down, and when your herds and flocks grow large and your silver and gold increase and all you have is multiplied, …But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.” Deuteronomy 8:11-13, 18
