If you have any question about how you should respond to someone, whatever you do, don’t forget to love them in spite of what they’ve done or not done. Even if they’ve hurt you, forgive and love them. If they’re abusive, do it from afar - but don’t let yourself be bitter or vengeful - just move forward in the grace of God, covered by the blood of Jesus and full of the Holy Spirit.
Seeking to punish or make someone pay will not serve you, nor will it serve God. Let authority do its work, and help if you can, but don’t let it consume you or your thoughts. The devil will get in anyway he can. You are the one who must guard your heart and mind… so love them anyway.
