Each person who follows Jesus Christ was present with Him on the cross 2,000 years ago. Our sin was what He bore on the cross. He knew each one of us from before the beginning of time and had planned to redeem us before we were born. But we got to choose to let go of our version of doing life for ourselves and to choose living a fulfilled life for Christ and eternity.
The choice seems like a no-brained - exchange your guilt and shame for salvation and healing. But it requires surrendering your will and purpose to God, admitting you’re not in control and willingly giving control to God, and loving and forgiving others. It isn’t self-focused like the world teaches us to be.
It is a wonderful, miraculous, great exchange.
