We celebrate when people work hard to achieve something and tell them they should be proud. I was proud of my accomplishments and said the same thing to my kids. It’s a mind set, that maybe needs to shift… I believe that when we work hard to achieve something on our own strengths we can lose sight of the power within us, and the call of God on our lives. But if we work hard to achieve these things WITH God, we can operate as a team and easily share the credit and the victory.
I know that I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. I’ve learned that my strength without His help isn’t really that strong at all - it manifests as hard-heartedness- which leads to sin and pride.
I need God’s mercy and grace - so do you. “And he gives grace generously. As the Scriptures say, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” James 4:6-7 NLT
