There are lots of well-meaning people in the world and they have LOTS of advice. This is true in the church too. Many Christians will give you all kinds of advice for how to live, where to work and what to do - but it’s not all good advice. Sometimes it’s just based on their own experiences. They aren’t you! What’s best for one person isn’t always best for another. It can become a kind of club when you follow this advice and hang out with them - their kids become friends with your kids, but it tends to be shallow; a “keeping up with the Jones’s” kinda of relationship.

The people you build relationships with need to point you to the Lord and encourage you to walk closely with Jesus instead of following in their own footsteps. When you build your relationship with God, you become friends, confidantes and you learn to lean on Him instead of on your own understanding. We never do this perfectly, but life is much better for us when we do it - and then we’re able to point others to Him too. That’s how the Church is supposed to work. #justsayin #walkinthespirit #theywillknowusbyourlove #christianliving #BEthechurch #shalom #yourjourneytobeingwhole #dailydevotional
