Be Still

Pastor David @stockpics said this yesterday and it really got me to thinking… He mentioned a few examples - like when the Israelites were stuck with the Red Sea in front of them and Pharaoh behind them, and God said “Stand still!”


But I kept thinking of the activity of waiting on the Lord. I’m usually the “active” waiter - I keep myself busy with all kinds of tasks (productive and nonproductive) while I’m waiting. I want to be ready when the time comes for whatever I’m waiting for. I’m not as good at being still and waiting on the Lord, I used to practice this regularly but I think I have become lazy. That stillness before the Lord is harder for me than being busy with the Lord. Something I will be working on this week!
