This quote got my attention. It made me think about times when my heart was broken. I could see how the end of certain relationships exposed a deeper wound in me. When my heart broke and I questioned “Why?!?” The Lord patiently and tenderly and slowly healed those wounds - and I’m grateful for His desire to make me whole.
But, there were other times that my heart was broken by the actions of others, not from broken relationships. At these times it was more difficult to heal because what was required was forgiveness and mountain-moving faith.
Jesus knows exactly how all of these kinds of broken hearts feels. He has been betrayed, scorned, abused, and hurt. But He didn’t have an underlying issue to heal He was perfect. He went through it just for me, just for you - so He could heal us and make us whole.
