Compassion for others, means to “suffer with.” It means you let yourself feel what they’re feeling, hurt, pain, sadness, anger, disappointment, etc. it isn’t negative thinking to have compassion or act compassionately. It’s what Jesus did. It’s how God is today and everyday.
“He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.”
2 Corinthians 1:4
“The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.” Lamentations 3:22-23
We are God’s child every day. His love and mercy on us never stops - our Father has compassion with us - that’s why He sent His sin, Jesus. Not just to die for our sins, but to suffer the pains and heartache of humanity - to show compassion.
And so I ask myself, “Self, how am I showing compassion for others today?” “Am I following Christ in this way?” Each day, I hope I’m more compassionate. #compassion #mercy #grace #childofgod #goodgoodfather #godisfaithful #shalom #dailydevotional #yourjourneytobeingwhole
