This quote by @timkellernyc really grabbed my attention. I tried to think of exceptions to this, but only came up with examples.

It’s important to think about this when we’re pursuing goals. What is our motivation? Do we want it because it will be good for our heart and soul, or because we’re afraid of not having it. Or are we concerned with how it will look to others.

But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” James 4:6

Pride is a sneaky sin - many times we can justify it away so easily, that we don’t realize what we’re doing until it’s too late - like Eve in the garden...
