I was helping in prison ministry last week and the preacher talked about choices and how she had to learn that the devil didn’t make her do anything. The Bible tells us this, too: “Let no one say when he is tempted, ‘I am tempted by God’; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed.”— James 1:13-14

The devil is a liar and will say anything to get your attention. He wants to get you to step off of the path God has you on, prevent you from following God’s plan and purpose for your life and steal your joy and fulfillment. He wants you to sin and feel separated from God. The only way to fight the devil is with the word if God.

DL Moody said it like this, “The Bible will keep you from sin, or sin will keep you from the Bible.”
