“Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him. For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease. He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.”

I know we don’t like the analogy of being sheep - but since God uses it so frequently, we need to pay attention! We need to be close to God to be able to stand and be safe from the evil that is coming against us. Just as a child needs to stay where their parents can see them so must we stay within God’s will for us, and be listening to His words. He is guiding and protecting us all the time.
Jesus is our good shepherd and it is His rod and staff that protect us and lead us through the dark valley!
