Temptation Is Not Sin

The devil is always looking for ways to make you stumble, distract you and get you to make the wrong choices. It’s his full-time job - He IS your enemy! However, he isn’t your master and he doesn’t have control over you, he just knows how to push your buttons. He knows what your desires and weaknesses are and will use any dirty trick he can to get to you.

Let no one say when he is tempted, ‘I am tempted by God’; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. — James 1:13-14

Jesus taught us that the best way to fight these temptations is with Scripture. The more you have hidden in your heart, the easier it is for the Holy Spirit to bring it up when you need it - just the right weapon for just the right temptation. And, there is always a way out!

“No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.” — 1 Corinthians 10:13
