This Kind of Prayer

Most of us don’t really like the idea of confessing our sins. Our human nature doesn’t want to and shies away from admitting when we’ve made a mistake or failed. It’s pride. Confessing our sins and transgressions is a humble act and I believe it draws the Lord a little closer to us when we have that attitude, and we acknowledge that we don’t have it all together and we need help. Plus, He forgives us!

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John‬ ‭1‬:‭9‬ ‭

But wait, there’s more… “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” James‬ ‭5‬:‭16‬ ‭

Confessing and changing/repenting puts power into our prayer! God makes us whole and heals us and when we pray for others the same can happen for them. This is miraculous when you think about it. This is the power of prayer, but it starts in humility.
