Our culture thinks of strength as something that is hard and unemotional, but it really isn’t like that. It doesn’t require much strength to be that way. In fact it’s kind of cowardly…
True strength is gentle and kind, giving grace and showing love - especially when it’s toward someone who isn’t easy to get along with or who doesn’t “deserve” it. Even though we know we don’t deserve God’s grace and mercy, love and forgiveness, we tend to be stingy with those gifts towards others. Why?
“Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love.” Ephesians 4:2
