Trusting God in the Desert

Trusting God and following Him is a lot more difficult when we aren’t sensing His word or presence to us like we have in the past. It’s harder to keep steady when you don’t hear His encouragement. The thing is, how can we ever truly have faith if we can’t make it through the desert? The desert where we feel alone, thirsty, and weary. This is a common theme in the Bible - lots of the prophets and disciples had to endure a desert experience, except they were really in the desert - we aren’t in the dry thirsty land, and yet our souls experience the same thing...

The key for me has always been following the wise advice of my pastors - just do (or keep doing) the last thing God told you or led you to do. I e found that sometimes I have thought I’d done it and I was ready for the next thing - but I hadn’t and I surely wasn’t. God patiently and quietly waited for me. #goodgoodfather #childofgod #trust #faith #discipleship #desertexperience #godisgoodallthetime #shalom #onespiritonechurch #dailydevotional
