Why is it so hard to believe that God wants to heal, restore, reconcile and make us whole - complete, with nothing missing and nothing broken?
We know and believe that we are to love Him with our whole hearts, and we often do the best we can in our humanity, but we tend to think Gods part was only about salvation and forgiveness (and that is huge!) and the rest is up to us and our works. But Christ’s work on the cross is continuously unfolding in Our daily lives as His blood cleanses, heals and renews us.
“But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed.”
Isaiah 53:5 NLT
He wants us to serve and follow Him, to fulfill a purpose and destiny, but not because we have some special ability or talent, but because of the work he does in us and through us and the gifts HE has given us.
“May God himself, the God who makes everything holy and whole, make you holy and whole, put you together—spirit, soul, and body—and keep you fit for the coming of our Master, Jesus Christ. The One who called you is completely dependable. If he said it, he’ll do it!”
