Prayer. Why do people avoid time alone to have an intimate conversation with their Creator and Lord. I think it’s probably the same reason they might avoid the same kind of truth with other people they love. We are afraid to have those conversations because then we have to admit the truth. Truth about our sin, truth about someone we love or the truth about how desperately we need God.
Prayer changes things. Prayer changes us. We need the peace of God that surpasses understanding. We need the wisdom of God in our circumstances. We need the love of God when we face the hatred in this world. We need the Holy Spirit to guide us through the battles we face.
