We need prayer. God doesn’t need us to pray, He longs to hear us want to talk to Him. Just like a parent listens to the voice of their child or a lover can’t wait to hear the voice of their beloved. Prayer is our great privilege- our audience with the King of the Universe and Creator of All - a place where complete honesty and vulnerability are safe and comforting.
When we pray, we make a difference. God does hear, and it does matter. Sometimes God has to do other things than what we want, but that doesn’t mean He didn’t listen or care… just that He knows better than we do. He does what is best for us. He loves us enough to take it when we’re mad at Him too - this is nothing to be ashamed of or turn away from. God gets us.
