Being Present

It is powerful to be present for another.

To just BE there,

quietly listening,

sharing stories,

silently breathing the same air,

giving hugs or a squeeze of the hand.

Not solving the problem or busily “helping,” but actually enduring it with another for a little while is something that we all CAN do, but it’s harder than giving a helping hand. It is the ministry of being fully present for someone else when they are enduring something. It requires us to lay down our own selfish desires and needs for a while - that’s probably why so many are sitting alone right now…

Who needs YOUR presence today?
