When Jesus appeared to His disciples in the upper room, Thomas wasn’t there. He didn’t believe it when they told him Jesus was alive and said that he would need to touch his wounded hands before he would believe. We all give Thomas a really hard time about this, but it was a normal response to something that defied all of the laws of nature, and it didn’t deter Jesus.
”A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.” Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!”“ John 20:26-28
Jesus is not deterred by your doubts either! He understands you, He loves you. He knows what you’ve gone through and what you’re going through now. If you’re not sure, ask Him to help you in your unbelief and to increase your faith! It IS His will for you, and He will help you. Because even though He showed up for Thomas’s doubts, He blesses faith! ”Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”“ John 20:29
