It’s hard sometimes to live IN the world and not be OF the world, but that is the life of a Christian. Being a disciple of Christ means that you follow His example and do things His way, even when - especially when - you want to do it differently. It’s about “not my will, but Your will be done.”
Listening to our hearts usually leads us away from God because our hearts are selfish by nature. We spend our lives getting better at following God and the voice of the Holy Spirit within us. We stumble often and then we get back up and try to keep going. Those who give up, are always questioning God’s directions and ways, those who keep on running the race with endurance know the Truth and are walking by faith even wi the their imperfections.
