I’m not gonna lie. I struggled with this for years. I trusted God, I walked by faith, but I was so lonely for a good and Godly companion/husband that I didn’t let God fill that void. For years, I would sing about God being enough - but would question Him about this longing and loneliness. I dated, but none of the guys was the one.
Finally, I surrendered. I turned over that loneliness to Him. I talked to Him and followed Him and stopped striving for the what if - and my loneliness abated and my joy increased. …and then I met James and the rest is history. I don’t need James to fill that spot anymore, though, because the Lord did. People can’t fill that need in you that only God can.
