It’s hard for us to really get this. Our souls are more real and permanent than our bodies. We go to great lengths and expense to preserve and treat our physical health, but how much do we invest in our spiritual health?
“Even before the world was made, God had already chosen us to be his through our union with Christ, so that we would be holy and without fault before him. Because of his love” Ephesians 1:4
Before it all, God knew us and He still chose to make us - to give us the path to eternal life with Him. He didn’t choose us to give us the opportunity to have the best body, or the biggest house or the fastest car - He chose us to love Him and others more than ourselves. This doesn’t mean we don’t live healthy lives, just that it’s not the most important thing.
“Beloved, I pray that in every way you may prosper and enjoy good health, as your soul also prospers.” 3 John 1:2
