Religion often gets this all mixed up and that’s why so many Christians are mixed up. Our foundation is not our behavior. We don’t need to act a certain way to be saved. Jesus did the work in advance. We receive His grace and mercy and respond with repentance and surrender 1 that’s the foundation that He builds in. God works in and through us to transform us more into the image of His son - not into the image of the ideal church-person. Jesus told us what He needs us to do - follow Him, love Him and love people.
