Forgiveness...healing

“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” Psalms‬ ‭34:18‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Healing depends on forgiveness. Forgiveness becomes an act of faith when we grant it to those who don’t apologize, aren’t even sorry or are so wrapped up in themselves that they’re not even aware that they hurt you. When we forgive others, our own healing begins. God still holds the other accountable for their own sin, and He May wipe it away with Jesus blood, just as He did for you and for me, or they may pay eternally - but that’s up to Him, not us. Our unforgiveness hurts us much more than the other person and it gives the devil a way to torment us. When we forgive, we are fighting against evil, and we heal from our wound. Sometimes, we have to do it several times - keep on forgiving, that’s ok. Forgiveness and healing doesn’t mean that you give someone another chance to hurt you, either. You don’t need to do that to walk in forgiveness.
