God has always used seasons of waiting in our lives - in fact, some of these seasons take decades. I e experienced that myself. I didn’t do it all right, either. God made me a promise, and then I had to grow to be ready for it. I tried more than once to make it happen myself, and it didn’t turn out well. But the Lord did what He said He would do after I let go of control and trusted His timing.
What ever you’re waiting for today, do it with faith in His timing and His truth - not your own.
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:2
