I learned to live this verse at a younger age than most, and though life was very difficult, being joyful in hope became more of a lifestyle for me than it does for most too. I had to cling to hope and I couldn’t function without the strength that I received from the joy of the Lord. It sounds dramatic, but it’s true.
I’m reminded of this because I’m helping someone who is going through similar pain as I did. I remember what each day was like with debilitating pain and the overwhelming feeling of defeat and discouragement that came from an inability to get relief. The Lord is the only hope, Jesus the only savior. I pray for all of you who are dealing with chronic pain to find joyful hope and patience in the Lord. Don’t give up!
