Sometimes, we get the concept of worship confused with our human reality - we praise people and children for pleasing us... Praising God isn’t something that is based on our circumstances, we don’t do it as a “reward” for God doing something we judge as “good.” We need to praise God because He IS GOD. He changed our hearts - and will keep on doing so if we let Him. He forgave ALL our sin. He sacrificed for us just so we could have a relationship with Him. That is why Paul was singing and praising even while he was still bleeding from beatings in prison. That’s why songs of praise rise up from the poor and oppressed. When we praise God, He fills our heart.
