Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. No one can come close to Father God without going through Jesus. No one is truly free without Jesus. Without the freedom that comes from knowing Him and following Him, you’re a slave to sin.
Don’t get me wrong, Christians still sin, all the time because we are human and that is truly just the way it is…. For now. But our sins get washed away and forgotten, they aren’t held against us and we are free of the eternal consequences associated with them. They don’t have a handle on us anymore. That is true freedom.
But we are also free to reject Jesus and choose to be under sin’s control. Somehow people think that if they submit to the Lord they are slaves but if they submit to sin they’re not… sin is a cruel master and it’s way is death.
