It is so easy to forget that physically we are in the middle of an epic spiritual battle. The armies of heaven are fighting the devil and all his forces of evil and, even though we know the outcome, there is real collateral damage when we are wounded. The Bible talks about fiery darts, these can actually hurt you and are not merely metaphorical. But the angels are mighty warriors and we can be too, if we fight the fight of faith. The Holy Spirit is in us, fighting for us and with us all the time. This is real. It’s not fantasy.
