Planning for tomorrow isn’t wrong, in fact God wants us to be productive. After all, preparing the ground and sowing seeds is planning on a harvest in the future, right? God wants us to be focused on today and also to be productive. In fact He promises us that we will reap what we sow, but He doesn’t promise us tomorrow.
We are to live each day walking with the Lord and living for Him - not living for our accomplishments and our work. He blesses the work of our hands when we are focused on the big picture - eternity - instead of our own little worlds. Jesus told us “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6:34
And Paul taught us to “press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:14 NIV
