Your Response

How many of you have told the Lord that you surrender to His will and purposes for your life?

Did that continue when the road became difficult and the calling seemed impossibly? Or, did you think that the difficulty and resistance was a sign that you weren’t supposed to do that thing anyways. “Whew! Thank God,” you thought.

Mary didn’t do that. God called her to be pregnant out of marriage. To be shunned and ridiculed in her community- and to risk being stoned to death. And she responded with faith and then with joy. “And Mary said: “My soul glorifies the Lord for he has been mindful of the humble state of his servant. From now on all generations will call me blessed, for the Mighty One has done great things for me— holy is his name. His mercy extends to those who fear him, from generation to generation.” Luke‬ ‭1‬:‭46‬, ‭48‬-‭50‬ ‭

How do you respond when the Lord asks you to walk a difficult road? Do you cry out, “Why? Why are you letting this happen, Lord?” Or, do you rejoice like Mary?
