Child of God

Scripture tells us over and over that God not only knows us, but He chooses us, He wants us, He loves us and He has adopted us as His children.

“For you are a holy people, who belong to the Lord your God. Of all the people on earth, the Lord your God has chosen you to be his own special treasure.”

He also makes us holy, set apart for a specific plan and purpose that is His will for us. This is where being a child of God can become a struggle. Our human nature is not holy. It doesn’t want to put aside selfish desires and ambitions to become what God created you to be. This was why we needed Jesus so badly. Before Jesus, it was impossible to obey Gods law and make all the right sacrifices at the right times to be in right standing with God. Jesus made us righteous and paid the sacrifice.
