As Christians, we are given the ministry of reconciliation - bringing love and forgiveness and grace into situations of brokenness and discord - this is being a peacemaker.

Keeping the peace is not the same thing - avoiding conflict is definitely not the same thing. Trying to “keep everyone happy; maintain the status quo so no feathers get ruffled; make sure no on crosses the proverbial line;” also avoid spiritual growth and maturity - and don’t require any faith. Christians are supposed to be peculiar - meaning we aren’t like everyone else - we make a difference, we bring the power of Christ with us when we walk into a room. This is the power to change hearts and minds from discord, selfishness, and fear to forgiveness, joy and peace.
