The message of the Gospel wasn’t enough for the disciples to begin the work of the ministry and The Church. Jesus had poured into them for 3 years before His death and for 40 days afterwards but He told them to wait for the Holy Spirit to come.
“And now I will send the Holy Spirit, just as my Father promised. But stay here in the city until the Holy Spirit comes and fills you with power from heaven.” Luke 24:49 NLT
How often do we take off to do what Jesus would do without our Helper? Without the Power from Heaven? Without waiting for Holy Spirit? When the Holy Spirit is working in and through you, He changes everything. His power is working in our weakness, penetrating darkness and softening hearts. When we walk with Him, instead of running ahead or lagging behind, that’s when we see His power and are empowered.
