The message of the Gospel wasn’t enough for the disciples to begin the work of the ministry and The Church. Jesus had poured into them for 3 years before His death and for 40 days afterwards but He told them to wait for the Holy Spirit to come. “And now I will send the Holy Spirit, just as my Father promised. But stay here in the city until the Holy Spirit comes and fills you with power from heaven.” Luke 24:49 NLT How often do we take off to do what Jesus would do with
When we seek the Lord with all of our hearts, our mind is renewed and transformed. His will becomes cleared to us and we desire it with all our hearts - not because we stop being who we are as individuals, but because we discover the uniquely gifted individual God created us to be. The more we know Him, the more we know ourselves. Our desires, hopes and dreams become His will and purpose for us, and we walk with Him towards them. #seekthelord #createdonpurposeforapurpose #cal
As I meditate on this verse, I’m preparing to follow that path He has shown me. Yet, I must seek Him further because I missed His timing before and tried to rush it - story of my life, right. “Let’s go!” Instead of “Let’s seek God.” If you’re ever wondering what you should do next or where God is leading - then the answer is always “Seek Him.” Then, follow where He leads in faith…even if it’s scary. #seekthelord #listen #followchrist #walkbyfaith #childofgod #goodgoodfather #
Deep down inside, we all have the desire to be closer to God - for being plugged into His will, and the kind of intimate fellowship that can only be experienced, not explained. It’s our own selves that get in the way… God isn’t putting up roadblocks. By nature, we’re selfish and tend to be in a hurry. We’re also prone to sin no matter how good our intentions are and we must learn how to rest under His grace at His feet. #seekthelord #grace #ingodspresence #awtozerquotes #you
How do you start your day? Traditionally, Jews start by praying the Lord’s blessing and the Shema, Hear, Israel, the Lord is our God, the Lord is One. Blessed be the Name of His glorious kingdom for ever and ever And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be in your heart. And you shall teach them diligently to your children, and you shall speak of them when you sit at
This is the lesson we are endlessly teaching our kids, and it’s a fear we face when making decisions between two good options. I believe God puts these situations in our paths to give us the opportunity to seek Him and His counsel. Discernment is His gift back to us - it’s more than wisdom and knowledge. Choosing what is right and best over something that seems right, but is easier and more convenient is the path of least resistance. How often do we choose this? What are we m
Seeking God isn’t something we learn from others. It’s the same as when we pursue a person we love. We make them a priority, we change our schedule just so we can talk to them or see them. We go out of our ways to do nice things for them. Our Father, Savior and Holy Spirit are always available to listen and to help us. They love us with this kind of passion and intensity- after all Jesus died for each one of us and He knew our name even then. How will you seek the lord today?
Living as a follower of Christ means that you press on towards Him and the passion He put in you to love and serve others. If you don’t have that passion, then seek Him and ask Him for more because you need it! You need to press in. You need to to love and serve others with passion and compassion. You don’t need to sit on the sidelines as a spectator and never get in the game. That isn’t how Christianity works - it is how the world works... The devil will whisper “someone els
