How many times have I prayed for God to bless my plans, the thing I’ve been working on or a situation or relationship that I desperately wanted to work out? Many, many times! Some of those projects were initiated by God, and He did bless them and moved people and institutions to help them along. Some of them weren’t God’s idea, nor were they His will. When I prayed for His Will to be done and in the same prayer asked for Him to bless my thing - I think God just shook His head and rolled His eyes. He might have thought, “Christine, I know that know My Word on this…act like it.” But He just waited for me, eventually answering the part about His Will being done, not my own.
I see people do this all the time, whether it’s a business idea or a relationship, they skip the “seeking God” part and go their own way. We all need to learn to seek God first and let the Him lead us towards the amazing plans and purposes He has that will lead to hope and to a good future.
