I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in His word I hope. Psalm 130:5
We are so impatient! I know people who will walk away from a restaurant they love or from purchasing something they spent time shopping for, just because they don’t want to wait in a line. It’s funny, waiting in line is one of the most important life-skills we teach children in kindergarten. Showing consideration for others and understanding a bigger picture - that the world doesn’t revolve around ourselves - is critical to following God. God tells us to wait on Him over and over in the scriptures. Why? Because He is working in us and in us. He is preparing us for this amazing plan He has for our lives. How often do we delay His work by our impatience and rebellion?
Oh Lord, please help us to see your work in our lives. Help us to wait on you and become all you’ve purposed for us. In Jesus name, amen.
