Walk the Walk

”Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble. Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. For, “Whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech. They must turn from evil and do good; they must seek peace and pursue it.“ 1 Peter‬ ‭3‬:‭8‬-‭11‬ ‭

Being humble is about putting your love for God and people first. Our culture teaches us the opposite, “look out for number 1,” “it all begins with you,” and other self-focused outlooks and motivations that are the opposite of humility. Humility isn’t about being a doormat either, it’s true meaning is wrapped up in knowing who you are and who God is, and acting like it. Pride is all about elevating and magnifying yourself and humility elevates God and others respectfully. Our humility attracts other to God. I’ve seen this in action over and over, too. Responding to people, even those with bad intentions, in a humble way speaks louder than pride. #justsayin #walkhumbly #BEthechurch #onespiritonechurch @fccphx @chuck.foreman.71 #jesusistheway #yourjourneytobeingwhole #shalom #dailydevotional
